Love as though you've never been hurt. "If you start to feel good during an ultra, don't worry, you will get over it," Luis quotes. "I've been running in circles for an hour now," Lukas whines. "Where is the finish line?"

"In the words of Peter Pan, Luis," quotes Lukas, "I'll teach you to ride on the wind's back, and away we go!" Live as though heaven is on earth. "Lukas, are you playing with a full deck?" Luis asks. "What fun can that possibly be? Let's go rip out stuffing or squeakers."

"Flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss, Lukas," teaches Luis. "I'm going to climb up here and learn to fly." "Hey, Glenn," Lukas queries. "As Oscar Wilde wrote, I choose my friends for their good looks, my acquaintances for their good characters, and my enemies for their good intellects. A pup cannot be too careful in the choice of his enemies. Which one are you?" "Gotta hurry!" Luis races. "Can't miss the lottery numbers on TV! If I win, I'm going to buy the biggest, juiciest bone I can find."

"We can't all be heroes because someone has to sit on the curb and clap as they go by," Lukas tells Glenn, quoting Will Rogers. Dance as though no one is watching. Squeaky toys are a pup's best friend.

"Hey, Luis, I think I can write plays. What do you think?" Lukas wants to know. "How about this: When trouble comes, they come not in single spies but in batallions or in a pair of pups that seem like a batallion"? Float like a butterfly. Sting like a bee.

"Georgine," Luis instructs, "please paint the nails on the left black and the nails on the right red." "Hey, Lukas," gossips Luis. "You know all these captions that make reference to the Energizer Bunny and going and going? Well, check this out. The Energizer Bunny just got arrested. He was charged with battery." "So come with me, Luis, where dreams are born, and time is never planned," sings Lukas. "Just think of happy things, and your heart will fly on wings."

LUKAS: Trust me, Glenn, I am the lesser of two evils.
LUIS: Never trust a pup who wears his heart on his forehead. I am the lesser of two evils. "The pup who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on," Luis tells Lukas. "Will you be my someone?" The more things are forbidden, the more popular they become.

Sing as though no one can hear you. "Am I not the most cherubic puppy you have ever seen in your life?" asks the modest Lukas." "In the words of John J. Kelly," Luis quotes, "marathoning is just another form of insanity."

"Lukas, whatever is happening over there looks like more fun than chewing up the rocker," Luis notices. "Let's go!" "Cut it out with the cutesy charming stuff, Georgine," Lukas spits. "This is my lap! Go find another one. Right, Glenn?" Two nations divided by a common language.
