Christmas 2004

Our volunteers did a remarkable job giving of their time and talents for homeless animals during the holiday season. And many people donated to the homeless pets in our rescue to give them a great Christmas. We wanted to thank both our volunteers and our donors by sharing a pictorial memorialization of Christmas 2004. Thank you!

During the holiday season, we held adoption events in Stafford and Reston. We had two fund-raisers: wrapping gifts at Barnes & Noble stores in the Richmond area and pet photos with Santa at Stafford PetsMart. We can't thank our donors by name because for the most part, they are anonymous. So we have to just give you a general thank you, but our volunteers we can name! Pet Harbor and the homeless dogs and cats we serve would like to thank the following holiday season volunteers:

Adoption events - Alesia, Ali, Amy, Annie, Brandi, Heather, Jay, Jeff, Melanie M, Sarah, Tomoko, Tracy, Trisha
Gift wrapping - Becky, Belinda, Heather, Jennifer P, Joellen, Kimberly, Monte, Randi, Sandy, Yonah
Santa photos - Annie, Cory, Heather, Jay, Jeff, Jennifer G, Jennifer P, Melinda, Michael G, Terra, Tomoko, Trisha

All the babies are sleeping. Christmas is about to begin.
Rodak says, "I'm very polite. I will wait until you say I can have it. But then watch out!"

Rosemary & Molly
Rosemary says, "Hold still! How am I supposed to practice my dancing if you keep swinging?"
That's the funniest bird I ever saw!" says Rosemary.
Rosemary says, "Can you believe what that Molly did? She chewed a hole in the treat bag! At least we Siamese have some manners!"

Daphne says, "Let go already! MY rawhide cane!"
Daphne prays, "Dear Lord, let me devour this cane before anydog else realizes I have it."
"The coast is clear. It's all mine!" thinks Daphne.

Tiger
"How dare you interrupt my catnip nap for a picture?" says Panta Mime.
Patti pleads, "Please turn your head so I can rip open this catnip-filled mouse without anybody noticing."
Tiger asks, "Didn't I get any tuna in my stocking?"

Bethany
Bethany says, "I've got a good sit going here. Come on with that cane!"
"So if I do a limbo dance with it, THEN do I get to eat it?" asks Bethany.
"I've performed to a T. I've done all commands perfectly. I've done every dance known to dogkind. WHEN do I get the reward?" Bethany wonders.

Bethany decides, "Yum! It was all worth it!"
Bethany says, "I guard even those things that don't belong to me. What makes you think for one second that I would let you touch MY rawhide?"

Elsy
Cayla winks to get us to tell Maxwell the ball is only hers!
"Stop taking pictures. It draws attention to the others that the ball is over here" commands Cayla.
"So many choices! What's a girl to do?" says Elsy.

"Can Fido come out to play?" begs Elsy.
Elsy asks, "Oh, boy. Is that another gift for me?"
"Balls, Kongs, rawhides. It's starting to look a lot like Christmas," sings Elsy.

"That's pretty funny that you think you can hide all the tennis balls in your shirt, Brandi. I can sniff them out" Elsy reveals.
"It's pretty cool that mice come in bright colors now," says Maxwell.
Maxwell warns, "Don't come any closer to MY catnip toys. Not one paw closer."

Maxwell talks to the catnip inside the mouse, "Come out, come out, wherever you are."
"Well, I've never smelled a mouse that smelled like that before," says Maxwell.
"Forget those impossible toys. I'll go straight to the source," Maxwell Einstein says.

Holley
"Since I've been really good, may I have two, please?" asks Holley.
"Good to the last drop or can't wait to get to the chewy middle. Wrong commercials. I'll just keep eating & stop thinking," says Holley.
Showing off her gift, Holley says, "From all of the homeless dogs & cats of Pet Harbor Rescue, thank you to all of those who made our Christmas great. We hope you have a wonderful new year! If you come to visit us at adoption events, we will thank you with kisses."
