America's Beloved Heroes

AVERY was named for RICHARD AVERY ARONOW, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Richard Avery Aronow, 48, Mahwah, New Jersey, was an attorney and a Deputy Chief of the Legal Department with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and worked on the 66th floor of Tower One in the World Trade Center, where he lost his life. He was given the nickname "sensei" by his coworkers of 18 years, a Japanese term for "teacher." He had a dream of starting a school for autistic children. Mr. Aronow was a 1975 graduate of Columbia College and the University of Texas School of Law in Austin. Mr. Aronow is survived by his wife, Laura; and their autistic son, Willie. He is also survived by his parents in Williamsburg, Virginia, sister, and brother. We salute Mr. Aronow, a hero, and name this spectacular pup in his honor.
