America's Beloved Heroes

CALLAHAN was named for FRANK CALLAHAN, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Captain Frank Callahan, 51, Breezy Point, Queens, York, was a captain with the FDNY. A firefighter since 1973, he was promoted to captain in 1977 with Ladder 35, he and his wife, an EMT, both helped at the World Trade Center that fateful day. A quiet man, Captain Callahan enjoyed reading about wars. His children were his shadows. Captain Callahan is survived by his wife, Angie; and children Harry, Nora, Peter, and Rose (then 22, 20, 16, & 13). Nora worked part-time at the World Trade Center. Before he left for the WTC, her father called to make sure she was okay. She was not at work. In addition to Nora, he called home to check on a child home sick & called his wife at work. Before he went off to the WTC to take care of the world, he made sure his family was safe. Pet Harbor salutes Captain Callahan, a hero, and names this handsome Siberian Husky in his honor.
