HOGAN was named for MAJOR WALLACE C. HOGAN, JR., who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Major Hogan, age 40, Alexandria, Virginia, was employed as a general's aide in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Plans, United States Army, and lost his life at the Pentagon. A native of Georgia, Major Hogan leaves behind his parents in Georgia and his newlywed wife, a major in the United States Air Force, of almost two years. Three days after his wedding anniversary, Major (Cole, as he was known) Hogan was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. Described as a "soldier's soldier," Major Hogan formerly served in the Green Berets as well as the Army's Special Forces. He also attended Valdosta State College. An athletic fellow, he enjoyed hunting, car repair, and bicycle riding. He also volunteered for a neighborhood revitalization project. We salute Major Hogan, a hero, and name this playful boy in his honor. (Source: The Baltimore Sun, United States Army)
