HOLLEY was named for JIMMIE IRA HOLLEY, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Jimmie Ira Holley, age 54, Lanham, Maryland, was employed by the U.S. Army for 30 years as a civilian accountant and worked at the Pentagon. Originally from Alabama, his final resting place is Arlington Cemetery. Mr. Holley did a tour in Vietnam during his years as a staff sergeant in the Army. He faithfully attended St. John Free Will Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Mr. Holley is survived by Martha, his long-time love but wife of only one year; his daughter, Kelly; son, Daniel; and granddaughter, Kayla; and a host of extended family.
We salute Mr. Holley, a hero, and name this lovely dog in his honor. (Source: The Baltimore Sun, The Washington Post 11/15/01)
