Michael
Kiefer, age 26, Hempstead, New York, chose firefighting as his life's passion in early childhood. He was employed by the FDNY when he lost his life. Firefighter Kiefer always wanted to be a firefighter. Some folks never know what they want to be when the grow up. Firefighter Kiefer always knew. He even instructed his sisters how to rescue their dolls from pretend fires when they were children.
Firefighter Kiefer was assigned to ladder 132 and was laid to rest on July 18, 2002.
Firefighter Kiefer is survived by his
parents, Pat and Bud; siblings Kerri and Lauren; and girlfriend Jamie. Pet Harbor
