America's Beloved Heroes

LACEY was named for LACEY B. IVORY, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Sergeant Major Ivory, age 43, Woodbridge, Virginia, originally from Kansas City, Missouri, served 24 years in our United States Army. His current duty assignment was as a personnel services specialist at the Pentagon in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs. At the time the terrorist attack struck, Sergeant Major Ivory was attending a meeting. He had earned a Master's degree and was a 1997 graduate of the University of Maryland's European division in Germany. He enjoyed helping children and was enrolled in a weekly dance class with his wife. He is survived by his wife and two children. His body was laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery. Pet Harbor salutes Sergeant Major Ivory, a hero, and names this sweet kitty in his honor.
