LAMANA was named for MICHAEL SCOTT "SCOTTY" LAMANA, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001.
Michael Scott "Scotty" Lamana, 31, Alexandria, Virginia, originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, tragically lost his life on September 11, 2001, when American Airlines flight 77, crashed at the hands of terrorists into the Pentagon, where he worked as a United States Navy lieutenant and flight officer.
A 1992 graduate of Louisiana State University, at the time of his death, Lt. Lamana was attending University of Maryland at night, working on his M.B.A. degree.
A cheerful man and practical joker, he was most known as a loyal Navy man.
His body was laid to rest October 9, 2001 at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. Mr. Lamana is survived by his wife, Lorna; parents, Mike and Wanda; siblings, Danielle and Andrea; and grandfather, Sam, who was his inspiration to join the Navy.
We salute Mr. Lamana, a hero, and name
this sweet dog in his honor.
