LOU LOU was named for LOUIS JOSEPH MODAFFERI, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Captain Louis Joseph Modafferi, 45, New York, New York, a firefighter who headed Staten Island's Rescue 5 of the Fire Department of New York, lost his life at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
Captain Modafferi is survived by his wife, Joanne; and children Christine, 18; Michael, 16; and Joseph, 12 at the time of their father's death. Captain Modafferi was known as a modest, fair, good-humored man who died doing what he loved to do. He was posthumously promoted to battalion chief.
We salute Captain Modafferi, a hero, and name
this beautiful dog in his honor.
