America's Beloved Heroes

LUKAS was named for MARIE LUKAS, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Marie Lukas, 32, New York, New York, was employed by eSpeed, a division of Cantor Fitzgerald as a securities broker. Ms. Lukas had a close relationship with her family. She was a social person and had lots of friends. She enjoyed traveling, dining out, and dancing. Her father, a firefighter, was the last person in the family to speak to Ms. Lukas. She called him seeking advice when the Towers had been hit. Ms. Lukas is survived by her parents, Frank and Marie; and brother and sister, Frank and Lisa; and her two Quaker parrots, Baby and Buddy, now in the custody of Ms. Lukas' sister, a veterinarian. We salute Ms. Lukas, a hero, and name this adorable pup in her honor.
