America's Beloved Heroes

MIAH was named for NURUL HUQ MIAH, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Nurul Huq Miah, age 35, New York, New York, was employed as an audiovisual technologist with Marsh & McLennan Cos., Inc., where he worked on the 94th floor of Tower Two of the World Trade Center. He attended a meeting on the 96th floor on the morning of September 11, where he lost his life. An immigrant from Bangladesh, Mr. Miah, sadly, also lost his wife of only one year, Shakila, in the senseless tragedy that has become known as 9/11. The Miahs were Muslim. Mr. Miah impressed the family of his intended bride, whose family traditions were to that of an arranged marriage. Mr. Miah carried on his family tradition of hunting and spent a great deal of time in the woods teaching his teenage nephew to hunt. We salute Mr. Miah, a hero, and name this beautiful dog in his honor.
