MONTGOMERY was named for MONTGOMERY McCULLOUGH HORD, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Montgomery Hord, 46, Pelham, New York, was employed as a Vice President and Partner at Cantor Fitzgerald, where he was working in the World Trade Center on that tragic day.
Mr. Hord was a jokester. He also had a heart of gold and had a genuine interest in people that made other people feel like they were important to him. A Nebraska native transplanted in the big city, he maintained his down-to-earth Nebraska persona. He called his father-in-law on military-related holidays to thank him for his military service to our country. He naturally volunteered for various charity efforts.
Mr. Hord leaves behind his wife, Lisa, and 3 young children: Molly, Sophie, & Jackson
We salute Mr. Hord, a hero, and name this handsome kitty in his honor. (Source: The Chicago Tribune 10/14/01, The New York Times 4/14/02)
