America's Beloved Heroes

R.E.D. was named for CAPTAIN ROBERT EDWARD DOLAN, JR., who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Captain Dolan, age 43, Alexandria, Virginia, served 20 years in our United States Navy. His latest duty assignment was at the Pentagon as the head of the Strategy and Concepts Branch. His office had moved to the area struck just three weeks prior to the senseless tragedy. Captain Dolan enjoyed the Navy, being on a ship, and being at sea. As we researched to write this tribute, the word that came through above the others was loyalty. Captain Dolan was the type of man we are proud to have serve as a commander in our armed forces. He kept in touch with childhood friends, put his all in his job, and still found time to assist in his children's activities. An intelligent man, one friend was quoted as saying about Captain Dolan, "He could quote Shakespeare and Monty Python in the same sentence." Capain Dolan earned a Bachelor's degree in ocean engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy. Captain Dolan is survived by his wife, Lisa; two children, Beau and Rebecca; and his parents Robert and Joan. Pet Harbor salutes Captain Dolan, a hero, and names this great dog in his honor.
