SIMPSON was named for JEFF L. SIMPSON, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Jeff L. Simpson,
age 38, Lake Ridge, Virginia, was employed as a project manager with Oracle Systems. He was installing a computer system in New York on September 11. Always there when someone was in distress, Mr. Simpson heard the distress call for the World Trade Center and went to assist. Helping others cost him his life. He is survived by his wife, Diane; son, Max, age 7 at the time of his death; and triplet daughters, age 6 at the time of his death. His son subsequently noted about someone else's competing for a $1 million game show prize, "I wouldn't take a million dollars if I could have my daddy back." We salute Mr. Simpson, a hero, and name this handsome dog in his honor. (Source: New York Times 3/31/02)
