America's Beloved Heroes

SPANN was named for JOHNNY M. (MIKE) SPANN, who paid the ultimate price on November 25, 2001 as a result of the attack on America September 11, 2001. Mike Spann, age 32, Manassas Park, Virginia, originally from Winfield, Alabama, an agent in the Directorate of Operations for the United States Central Intelligence Agency, lost his life performing in the line of duty in Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan. Mr. Spann served with the United States Marine Corps in Okinawa with one of the members of Pet Harbor's board of directors. Agent Spann leaves behind a wife and three small children. We salute Mr. Spann, a hero, and name this handsome dog in his honor.
