TIMMY was named for TIMOTHY JOHN COUGHLIN, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Timothy Coughlin, 42, New York, New York, was employed by Cantor Fitzgerald as a bonds trader. From all the research we did, one thing stood out about Mr. Coughlin everywhere. Every reference to him mentions it. That is that everybody loved him. Folks were drawn to him everywhere. He befriended everyone, was full of life and laughter, and had a generous and social nature. A 1980 graduate of Stonehill College, he was well-rounded, being involved in athletic ventures, the student-run pub, and the charity Big Brothers program.
Mr. Coughlin is survived by his wife, Maura; and 3 young children, Ryann, Sean, and Riley; parents; and a whole host of family. We salute Mr. Coughlin, a hero, and name this sweet dog in his honor. (Source: The New York Times 11/19/01)
