America's Beloved Heroes

TOSHI was named for TOSHIYA KUGE, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Toshiya Kuge, age 20, Nishimidoriguoska, Japan, was a college sophomore. He studied design and creation of materials in the Science and Engineering Department at Waseda University. After a summer of visiting America and Canada with the intention of transferring to an American university in the future, Mr. Kuge was traveling back home to Japan aboard United Air Lines flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania after being hijacked by terrorists, when he tragically lost his life. One of the highlights of his trip was seeing Niagara Falls from both countries. An active individual, Mr. Kuge enjoyed soccer, football, and rafting. A 1999 graduate of Kitano High School, he excelled there in soccer. He is survived by his parents. We salute Mr. Kuge, a hero, and name this gorgeous puppy in his honor.
