America's Beloved Heroes

VALENTINE was named for JULIANA VALENTINE McCOURT, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Juliana McCourt, age 4, New London, Connecticut, lost her life aboard United Flight 175 as she traveled with her mother. Ironically, Juliana’s uncle was in the World Trade Center at the time the plane hit and, thankfully, was able to escape. Unfortunately, his sister and niece were not so lucky. Nicknamed Miss J, a family friend called Juliana, who had a cherubic face, an "angel without wings." Her uncle said she loved people so much she questioned strangers she thought were sad to find out why. She enjoyed horseback riding and visiting the Disney Web site. She is survived by her father. Pet Harbor salutes Miss McCourt, a very young hero, and names this cutie pie in her honor.
