VANNA was named for GIOVANNA PORRAS, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Giovanna Porras, age 24, Queens, New York, was employed by General Telecom as an accountant and intended to take her C.P.A. exam. It was there, where she worked on the 83rd floor of Tower One of the World Trade Center, that she lost her life. Ironically, she was excited about working in the famous World Trade Center. A graduate of Baruch College, Ms. Porras was the first person in her family to graduate from college. Ms. Porras, born in Lima, Peru, was known as a cheerful person who got along with everyone and one who would do anything she could for anyone. She is survived by her sisters, mother, and boyfriend. We salute Ms. Porras, a hero, and name this pup in her honor.
