VOSKER was named for GARO H. VOSKERIJIAN, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Garo H. Voskerijian, 43, Valley Stream, New York, was employed in global technology services at Marsh & McLennan Cos., Inc., where he worked at the World Trade Center. Mr. Voskerijian fit the part of Santa Claus that he played annually. Besides the right build, he had a Santa-like personality. A 1980 graduate of Pace University, Mr. Voskerijian spent countless hours making people feel appreciated and fixing their problems. A member of St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church, a memorial service was held on September 30, 2001 at St. Ann's Church and on October 6, 2001 at St. Sarkis. Mr. Voskerijian is survived by his wife, Nayda; and children, Shant, Aline, and Isabel, ages 12, 8, and 6, respectively, at the time of their father's death.
We salute
Mr. Voskerijian, a hero, and name this handsome dog in his honor. (Source: The New York Times 11/14/01)
