America's Beloved Heroes

WINUK was named for GLENN J. WINUK, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Glenn Winuk, age 40, Manhattan, New York, was a partner in the law firm of Holland and Knight. For over 20 years, he also was a volunteer firefighter, in which passion he lost his life in the tragedy of September 11, 2001. A graduate of SUNY Oneonta and Hofstra University law school, Mr. Winuk became a lieutenant while volunteering in the fire department. When his office headed away from the collapse of the Twin Towers, Mr. Winuk headed toward the tragedy to volunteer his assistance. New York State has declared that Mr. Winuk died in the line of duty for his heroic efforts. Mr. Winuk is survived by his parents and brothers. We salute Mr. Winuk, a hero, and name this handsome dog in his honor.
