America's Beloved Heroes

YELENA was named for YELENA "HELEN" BELILOVSKY, who paid the ultimate price in the attack on America September 11, 2001. Helen Belilovsky, 38, Mamaroneck, New York, was an assistant vice president at Fred Alger Management, Inc., working in World Trade Center Tower 1 on the 93rd Floor. From Kiev, Ukraine, she was married the day of the Chernobyl disaster and had been married 15 years when she died at the World Trade Center disaster. Ms. Belilovsky moved to the U.S. in 1993 and the month prior to her death received her American citizenship. Though she had received a degree in her original country, here she earned a Master of library science degree at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York. Besides her husband, she is survived by a 13-year-old son. Proud to be an American, Ms. Belilovsky convinced her brother and parents to eventually follow her to the United States. Pet Harbor salutes Ms. Belilovsky, a hero, and names this love bug in his honor.
