Our second puppy update is May 22, 2002, almost a year after the last update:
When Pet Harbor hears from someone looking for advice to correct problems they encounter concerning their pet(s), the first thing we do is ask questions. Little did we know when Annie contacted us for suggestions to help her with her Husky mix, LadyBug, that we would discover her escape artist was our Mikhail's saved puppy! You can't imagine the excitement when we found out she had grown up so happy and beautiful and very loved.
Another surprise came our way, for which we are quite grateful, although Mikhail does not hold exactly the same sentiment. Annie and LadyBug have offered to pay for all of Mikhail's baths until he finds a home! Remember, his baths have to be done by the veterinary staff at Pet Care Centre under sedation.
When Annie, LadyBug's mommy, took LadyBug home from the hospital shortly after Mikhail saved the pup's life, the fragile LadyBug weighed 4.7 pounds. Two weeks after that, she weighed 11 pounds. Today, she weighs 43 pounds!
Reckon she's out of danger now?
Transfusion, we are convinced, has a deeper meaning than mere transfer of blood. LadyBug and Mikhail have too many commonalities, both negative and positive, to be simply coincidental. Both enjoy the great outdoors but love sleeping with her humans in the evening. Both are strong-willed and stubborn escape artists! Mikhail tried to eat a cat. LadyBug tried to eat a mouse. Pulling their humans, both are as strong as oxen. Both love to tease other dogs. LadyBug especially likes to pick on Obi-Wan, her Terrier sibling, all day.
Look here for further updates! Soon we hope to have a happy reunion, which you will see here in our next update, although we know Mikhail will attempt to show his dominance!
