Hi! My name is Blaze of Glory. My family calls me Blaze for short. My family got me from Pet Harbor on July 13th, 2003. I came to meet my new family on Sunday night. They didn’t know I was coming to stay. So they didn’t have anything ready for me. I ran around the house. After running around, I was thirsty. They gave me a Cool Whip container with some water. I even jumped up on the couch once. My new mom called to me, "Blaze, we are going to have to talk about that one!" She did not want me up on her furniture. I haven’t jumped up any more. I slept in my new master’s bedroom.

On Monday, my new family took me to Pet Smart. Boy, on my first day with them, I got to go on a trip. How exciting! In the toy selection, I picked out some toys that I liked, which they bought for me, of course. When they showed me a squeaky teddy bear, I just had to have him. They got me the teddy, which I carried out of the store to my new home.

I love squeaky toys. My favorite is a teddy bear, which I call "Teddy". Every night when Mikaela (who is my very own teen) and I go to bed, Mikaela carries Teddy upstairs and I get on her bed with him. In the morning, I carry Teddy downstairs for the day. When I play with Teddy, look out! I shake him up and toss him in the air, then wherever he lands, I pounce on him. Then I run around with him in my mouth. I have so much fun when I play with Teddy and Mikaela. I now have two teddy bears: one for in Mikaela’s room, to sleep with and for when I am upstairs and one for the rest of the downstairs.

My favorite bowls are blue. I love to go on car rides, even if they are short ones, just running to school to pick up Mikaela from band practice. Mikaela takes me for walks around the neighborhood. After Mikaela goes to school, Sherry, my new mom, takes me for a short walk before she goes to school. I enjoy my walks. I don’t like to get up earlier in the morning, I like to get up around 7:30 in the morning. So we walk around 8:00 a.m.

My new family is really nice to me. I know they love me. Some days I am sad when I think of my old family, but then I see Mikaela and everything is OK again. My new house is really big. I love to run up and down the stairs. In the new recreation room, Mikaela and I play hide and seek. She hides and I run to find her. I love to just run around and I don’t even get yelled at for running in the house. I am so happy to be in this family. I just want to love them forever and I know they will take good care of me and love me too!

After I wrote my success story, I added to it a few times.

I am doing well. I like to go for walks. Mikaela takes me every day. I went on my first trip to Grandma's, who lives in Pennsylvania.

7/26/04 I am doing well. I am the same funny boy that I was. But I had a seizure Saturday night. They seem to be about five minutes long. This last one makes 3, and that is about 1 per month.

12/12/04 I am doing extermely well and fit in well. I love when Mikaela comes home from school and I see her. So she knows that I miss her during the day. I still sleep in her room and love the fact that I can be on her bed. I have decided to claim Mikaela's brother's bed. It is a queen-sized bed so I have plenty of room to spread out and sleep. I still love to bury my chewy in the coucheds and Mikaela's bed. I don't like me being on my parents' bed because I want to be up on it with Mikaela. I love to go out in the backyard and lay down atop the hill and watch the neighbors. I haven't taken any seizures lately. I talk to my family when we are watching TV and I want all the attention on me! My family is very happy with me, and I am very happy with them.

7/16/05 I am doing well. I have many toys now and loves water. I like to play in the sprinklers. I had a break for a little bit from the seizures but still have them. They are not bad or severe.
