Hi! My name is Soju. I was adopted from Pet Harbor by my Mommy in July of 2005. At
that time I was called Bud, but my new family changed my name to Soju once I
arrived. Soju is a Korean name. It really suits me well as I LOVE Korean food.
When I arrived at my new home I found a really nice Mommy and two human brothers: Chase and Carter. They had made a poster for my welcome home, which was so wonderful.
(You can read my biography.)
My brothers are so much fun! They are just like me: lots of
energy and love to play! Sometimes my brothers leave for the weekend to go visit
their dad. I miss them a lot! When they return, I am so happy! I jump up on them
and lick their faces off.
Mommy got married about a year after I arrived. So now I have a Daddy, too. I
call him Appa, which means Daddy in Korean cause my new Daddy is from Korea. I
met Appa when I arrived in my new home. However, he didn't live with us then.
When he first moved in, I was a little protective of my Mommy and MY side of the
bed. I always slept in bed with Mommy right next to her. When Appa moved in, I
wouldn't let him get in bed. I would growl at him. Now I love Appa, and he loves
me. He walks me every night before we go to bed. I have my own doggie bed now
and I prefer that bed. Mommy still likes to snuggle with me a little before she
goes to sleep. I do it to appease her, and I usually get a tummy rub out of it
before I settle down on my bed with my squeaky toys (my favorite being my Husky
pup).
I am 100% Husky! I love to run!!! Early on when my brothers were too young to
remember to close the door behind them, I would take advantage and escape! My
family loves me so much, I barely get around the corner before they are on my
trail. As soon as I see my Mommy coming after me in the car, I give up and jump
in the car with her. I don't get out much any more, but if I do, my brother Chase
is a super fast runner and he catches me! I also love to surf the counters, jump
up, howl, dig in the yard, steal food off the table, and get into the garbage. My
family studied about Huskies before they adopted me. They know I don't want to
cause trouble, it's just in my blood. Mommy doesn't even get mad any more. She
always tells me how I'm so handsome and the best husky.
Mommy also says I'm the
smartest dog in the world. Our garbage can is under the sink, and there is a
magnetic lock on it. Mommy has NO clue how, but I can open it!!! Adults come to
our house
and can't figure the lock out, but I know how to work it. I'm also so smart that
I know some commands in Korean.
Other than my family, I love car rides, walks, playing with my brothers, lounging on the patio and in the backyard, bones, and squeaky toys. Mommy is buying me a harness so I can learn to mush. I can't wait/ I'm so excited!!! I'm going to be a real Snow Dog now (if we ever get any snow, that is!). Maybe you will see me in the movies someday. After all, Mommy says I am the most handsome Husky in the world! Thanks to my wonderful family for adopting me and thanks to everyone at Pet Harbor for taking care of me and finding me a forever home!!!
Love,
Soju Lim (formerly Bud)
