(You can read my biography.)
Aroooh!! Wow! This is a great home and family. I love it here. And I know I'm a lucky dog to also have an air conditioned home on 100 degree days:-)
Did you know that I'm a fast learner? I don't surge anymore on walks. I get three to four walks a day. But I can still hold it ‘til the cows come home! Also, when the weather is more realistic, I LOVE to go mushing!!!! I'm in my harness pulling "Dad" on his bike on a one-way loop street in our neighborhood. "Mom" pretends that she's not coming to let me get ahead. But I don't really start running in earnest until I hear her coming behind me on her bike, HAHA. After she passes me, she doesn't go too far ahead of me to make it seem like we're all "running" together! Actually having her in front of me helps me not get too distracted when a squirrel crosses or when we pass someone interesting. She turns around and speaks to me and I keep my eyes on her and keep coming after her. It's lots of fun. People like watching us do this, too. Maybe they want to try it?
I don't jump up on beds or couches anymore either. I have my favorite places where I like to flop in the house, and I always know how to get a belly rub. Did I tell you that I know a lot of words too?
"Mom" wants me to be sure to tell you that I have seizures. I think I had my first one about 6 wks. after I came here to live. I do seem to bump my head a lot. We're not sure if they're connected or not. But the vet says if they don't increase in frequency, we won't need to do anything drastic like giving me pills! I've also had two surgeries in the first few months after coming here to live. Both times they were for sutures that were working up to the surface and breaking through my skin. That was from being spayed. Now my belly fur is nice and thick ‘cause I've got a great coat, shiny and thick. I'm in great shape, (even though I get a lot of training treats) and at a great running weight--49# now.
"Mom" keeps looking at the Pet Harbor Web site to check out who's getting adopted. She likes to read the bios about the dogs, and picks up tips on Sibe language that way. She and "Dad" keep telling me what a great dog I am and how happy they are to have found Pet Harbor and ME!!! I think I'm going to have her put in some good pictures of me before I sign off here.
Sorry, there were no mushing pictures on the camera currently--you'll be seeing one of my favorite flopping places, under a chair in "Mom's" office, me cooling down after mushing, and me begging a belly rub.
Oh, and by the way, am I going to get my name, picture and updates on the
web site's Success Stories? Mom said she read all of those stories when
she was looking for a dog to adopt. She kept coming back to the site
again and again, tracking dogs' progress!!
Thanks again for all the good work you're doing to take care of those
huskies still looking for their forever home. Thanks again for taking care of me until you helped me find my forever home!!
