Hi. Nice to meet you. I came to Pet Harbor from a rural West Virginia shelter that had an almost 100% euthanasia rate. In July of 2000, I found my forever family. The children were young then. My family changed my name to Max because it was easier for the youngsters to pronounce.
My Mom says, "Max is our baby. We love that dog." She always wanted a lap dog but
never expected that lap dog to be a 70-pound Siberian Husky. I love to lay
across my Mom's lap and sleep. My parents had to buy a king size bed so I could
stretch out more. If Max isn't happy, nobody is happy. So my comfort
is my family's priority.
Escaping is never on my mind. My family only has a four-foot fence,
and to me it's just something in the yard. The neighbors love me, too.
I love to talk and will say, "Mama" if bribed.
My Mom says she feels so lucky to have
me. I feel lucky to have my family. Well, I am lucky! Watching me grow old is breaking my Mom's heart, though.
So, to sum it up, I have had a great life. I am loved, needed, and my family's camping buddy.
Thanks so much, Pet Harbor.

(You can read my biography.)
I am not the usual Husky. I love to sleep and relax
during the day while my parents work. When my Mom comes home from work, I am always
asleep in my parents' bed. I will perk up for a couple of hours and back to bed
I go.
They call me Grandpa
now because I doesn't get around like I used to. I might get 10
minutes of hard play in before I quit, but when they first adopted me, I was a young boy and
would play for hours.
