I get to go for walks up to twice per day. My favorite thing is to chase my tennis ball in the morning when the male human reads his newspaper on the porch. I chased the ball for about three hours one day. I am the tennis ball king. The human ran out of energy before I did. We spent the rest of the day watching football. I slept with the ball in my mouth. I get to play with my ball at least once each day while my human reads.
When I had been adopted for one year, my parents said they were still very much in love with me. They renamed me Frank so I could be Frank Howard. Although I had only been their dog for one year at that point, they felt as though I had been their little boy my entire life.
In South Dakota, I have an entire acre to run around on and there is a 1,500-acre nature preserve across the street from the house with trails for walking. I loves to be with my parents when we go on trips and looked forward to my ride to South Dakota. Now that my mom is working from home, I'm really Spoiled! Now I have at least one parent with me all the time! My parents say I continue to be THE best dog. I am my parents' number one boy, and they are my number one humans!
(You can read my biography.) My name is Frank! My nicknames include: "Beautiful," "Honey," "Handsome," "Loverboy," and "Sweet-Pea." I got adopted on September 15, 2006 by 2 humans who lost both their former dogs to old age within a month of each other. They got tired of a dog-less house and wanted me.
When they adopted me, I was not a young pup. My birthday is approximately June 9, 1996. I was ten years old when they adopted me. Pet Harbor thinks my parents are the greatest thing since sliced bread. I had at least 2 homes before. I had one home & ended up in a kill shelter. Pet Harbor rescued me & found me another home. I had that home 7 years. Then my mom moved and decided I could not go with her. So back to Pet Harbor I came. My foster mom was really attached to me, and I was really attached to her. I was equally as attached to my tennis ball. You will see it in my mouth in almost every picture. Then I found my forever home & forever parents.
I am so happy. Now I am the only dog and I get spoiled with a capital S. I get food, treats, dog-beds, walks, car rides, and the run of the house. There are three cats here that I keep on their toes. The black one ignores me when I run at him. The gray one isn't very bright, but doesn't run away. There is a tiger cat that runs away whenever she sees me. I'm not sure what her problem is.
The female human is extra nice to me. She tells me she loves me all the time and looks for reasons to give me treats. The humans took me to the vet when they first adopted me to make sure I got checked out. That vet told me I was going to live a long time. Nobody believes I am 10. The vet said I am very physically fit. (I already knew that.)
Shortly after I got adopted, I went on a boat ride at Lake Anna. If you saw a yellow dog on a pontoon boat with a tennis ball in his mouth, it was probably me! Now I am a Sea Dog! I am living the best life a dog could possibly live and I am very happy at my new home. When it is winter, I will snuggle in my bed by a fire. This is great!
One year after I had been in my home, we were on the move! This time my family didn't dump me because they moved. We all moved to South Dakota. My parents say I have been an absolute love since they got me. (They've been absolute loves, too, but don't tell them that.
I don't want the spoiling to stop.) They say I have not done one thing wrong since they brought me home. They gave me the run of the house when we were not at home on my second day with them. I get along with other dogs in the neighborhood but get a little jealous of the cats if I think they are getting my pets.
