Homeless pets need and LOVE volunteers! Do you want to help homeless pets find homes? Do you have a few minutes or a few hours to spare? Do you have a particular expertise or skill? Come one, come all! We will find you a place! If you have a desire or interest in volunteering, this is the place to start. Every position with Pet Harbor is strictly as a volunteer. If you can think of positions we have not thought of that would be helpful, please let us know. If you wish to donate items other than time, please see our wish list.
Our list of volunteer needs is always under revision. To find out more, write to our Volunteer Coordinator. Some examples of volunteer tasks currently in need are:
Persons to do Home Visits. We cover a large part of Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. and are always in need of persons to do home visits. It takes no expertise and is easy to do.
Transporting animals and equipment to/from shelters/vets/foster homes
Telephone work
Adoption event assistance
Application processing assistants (phone and e-mail work)
Grooming/bathing dogs
Temperament testing dogs at shelters throughout our territory
Fund-raising
Hands-on animal care (in Bowling Green)
